Serana says her home is near Solitude. It is quite a distance away.
Along the way, J’Zhirr tries to engage Serana in conversation. She still doesn’t quite trust J’Zhirr yet. When J’Zhirr tries again to ask why Serana was locked away, she instead urges that we travel to her home so that she can have a better sense of where we all stand. J’Zhirr supposes he can’t blame her for being cautious.
On the way to Solitude, we pass by a giant’s camp that is disturbingly close to the road. We stay our distance and the giant ignores us.
J’Zhirr follows the tunnel and finds the heart of the poaching operation. A dead mammoth lies in the middle of the cave. The majestic beast has been cut open and two bandits are processing it. So focused are the two bandits that they ignore the oily puddle at their feet. It will be dangerous if a lamp from the ceiling falls and lands on the puddle, will it not?
J’Zhirr hurries back, travelling through the night so that he may reach Riften when day breaks. Beneath the starry sky, this one encounters two mammoths crossing the road. This one stops and waits for the mammoths to cross before continuing on his way.
Giants have set up camp near Whiterun. They make decent neighbors as long as this one gives them a wide berth. This reminds J’Zhirr of an old joke.
Riddle: Where does a Giant set up camp?
Answer: Anywhere he wants to.
Mammoths roam the plains of Whiterun. They are peaceful creatures who ignore everyone else unless someone attacks them. J’Zhirr guess one can be indifferent when one is so big. There is nothing much in the world which can hurt them. This means that one can get really close to them without fear of coming under attack. However, giants herd the mammoths so J’Zhirr is careful not get too close lest one is nearby.
